Hey all. Just wanted to know how many folks out there are into long distance pumping (LDP) with a longboard. After some research on the net I discovered www.pavewave.org. Check it out, especially the videos. These folks have tricked out their boards to allow them to pump long distances without having to push at all (well, except for big hills). I decided to take up longboarding because of LDP and am having a great time. (Just turned 50!) Now I realize that the younger crowd may want more thrills, but I find this just awesome. Unfortunately I've never seen anyone on the trails pumping a board. Is this just a West coast thing? Where are all the Ontario pumpers?

I did a little last year, Its a good workout! I'll bet that lakeshore tail would be pretty good to LDP. James Peters makes it look so easy. Check out the vid from his most recent 24hr ride. Looks like he's hardly doing anything, but he's moving at a good clip. The guy following him is flailing away like crazy to keep up. Would be cool to do an LDP ride, should be more fun than by yourself.

i'd be up to do something like that. gonna have to do some wedging on my board to make it easier to pump, but i'd like to go on an LDP ride.
